About me

I am Nicoleta Roxana Dobre and I began relearning this truth as I started my journey to becoming a psychotherapist some years ago. I am curious by nature and I love exploring, the external world but also the internal universe. Even as a  little girl I remember having a  certain attraction of understanding human psyche, behaviours and emotional reactions. I developed my observer subpersonality quite early, though it will take a while until I will follow my curiosity in this direction, I’ll have you know. So my path towards healing, towards awakening and being in service was not a linear one. I believe that healing is a process and it does not have a final destination; it is rather a journey of untangling the healthy from the non-healthy, where we rewrite our story from “that happened to me” to “I am the creator of my own life, I have a choice, I can bring change for myself”, it is about relearning boundaries, changing patterns, regulating our nervous systems, finding safety in our own bodies and enjoying life. Coming back to my personal story, I had an idea to go to Psychology University in highschool but I did not receive support for this decision. Back then I did not trust myself enough to follow my own path. I did read a lot of psychology and philosophy in my adolescence, had my big existential talks with the divine so I developed an inclination towards contemplation, introspection and self-inquiry quite early.

Moving forward, I spent more than 10 years in HR roles in different industries before a major change happened in my personal life and everything I knew untill then fell appart. There was no beginning or end that I could visualise to my current situation and that’s when I decided it’s time to get help. Thus began my inner journey.

I began my therapeutic process, peeling layer after layer of defenses. Sometimes the road led back, sometimes it was regression, other times there were unbelievable breakthroughs. Resistance showed up many times and I held back. But my desire to change was always bigger so I kept on going. I experienced many types of therapies and different therapeutic tools on the road, depending on what I was working on specifically, what part of myself was showing up for integration. Some of these are trauma therapy, family constellations, intention constellations, somatic work, EMDR, group therapy, integrative therapy, gestalt therapy, transpersonal therapy.

I worked with my body, with my emotions, with my cognitive patterns and behaviors, I worked with rewiring my brain’s pathways. I meditated, I danced, did some voice and sound practices. I tended to my spirit through integrating rituals into my daily life. I worked on my past trauma, relationships and limiting beliefs.

Somewhere along the way I reconnected with my dream of becoming a psychotherapist and, supported by my therapist at the time, I enrolled into Psychology University. I graduated and enrolled into a formal Psychotherapy training. I chose Integrative psychotherapy because it made sense to me the most. It is relationship based and it works with the person in a holistic way: emotional self, cognitive self, the body, the behaviours and beliefs, the environment, the transcendental. These are all parts of human nature and to me it is only natural to work toward bringing everything in balance. During this training I learnt so much about myself but I also learnt to develop the observer, the specialist, the psychotherapist. During the two years of training, I spent time learning together with amazing teachers and true masters of this delicate profession. I created precious connections with likeminded people and colleagues, I learnt and applied many techniques and practices to use in therapy sessions with clients. I developed more empathy, compassion and love towards myself and learnt how to be/exist from these spaces in connection to others, how to hold space for others so they can open up and take the path of healing, the path of self-awareness and growing. Lately I became more involved in somatic work, started to grow more familiar with my own nervous system and befriend it. I became curious also as a therapist and thus enrolled in a somatic specialization.

Another healing path I undertook was to reestablish my relationship with my feminine nature, body and energy, to relearn the path and truth of the Heart, to feel safe again to live a happy healthy life and to love deeper. I started to integrate different practices in my life, to go to women circles and get inspired by some beautiful amazing teachers with which I had the honor to work and learn from so much. This rich and profound journey has led me to emerge into my deepest dreams and take actions to make them come true. I have found that it is such a deep calling for me to be in service, as psychotherapist and as woman and to support others to find their way back to themselves. My own life was transformed during this process and I am true proof that change does happen on the deepest of levels. Working on opening my heart over and over again, with trust in the process, in life and in myself has been my deepest mantra for years.

I believe that all we need is hope and the desire to show up for ourselves, to do the work with commitment and responsibility. Don’t worry, these too can be learnt. We as humans have infinite potential to grow and change.

I believe that my path has yet so many beautiful doors still hidden from sight. I am still learning, am a student of life and more, a forever student of Love and Truth.

Art is one of my most precious resources. I love writing, singing, dancing, drawing and just letting my spirit roam free. Also, art can be a great way to process emotions and trauma, I find it a wonderful resource and I use different creative tools in therapy with clients.

Nature is another beautiful and valuable resource, a deeply grounding and regulating way for me to find my balance and the way back to my center. I work with devotion, curiosity and love towards always honoring my spirit, my dreams and my everyday life, where true embodied love emerges. I work with humbleness, compassion and love with all of those who entrust me with their own transformational path. I have done more that 500 hours of trainings and personal development, 1 on 1 sessions, group sessions, live and online, and I believe that, as a therapist, I will always have my own process to mind and turn to as my place of continuous healing because as I mentioned, in my view, this is a process, not a destination.

By walking this path myself first, I become aware of ways and resources that I can put in service to guide the people I work with. I love working with clients and couples in 1 on 1 sessions but I also truly enjoy working with groups. The experiences are both profound but in such different ways and I usually encourage my clients to also attend therapeutic groups or personal development workshops and circles.

As a human I know that we heal in relationships and the safer the attachment becomes, the richer and rewarding the connections to others become.

I am honored and grateful you have spent this time to read about my journey and I look forward to learning about yours.

Thank you!
